Praying for good weather
Yesterday, we planned to pour the footers for two additional buildings. The weather had been great all week, and I was surprised to see the sky darken during lunch time. Unlike the first pad, these other two had some spots that required us to dig footers as deep as four feet. A flash rainstorm now, would really leave Brad and his team in a deep hole.
I watched WRAL's Doppler from my office near Six Forks and Strickland as the first drops started falling outside my window. Lightning started crashing around us as the Radar showed a storm just appearing near Crabtree Mall and headed right towards the site. As the rain started coming down heavy around my office, I imagined what a mess it would shortly make at the site, a little more than a mile away. I know Trinity has many people praying for our work, and I stopped to pray with them that God would protect us from this storm. I checked the doppler image again and was elated to see the storm breaking into two pieces just before reaching our site, and then moving in opposite directions away from us.
When I drove out to the site later, they confirmed that they had heard all the thunder, but didn't get one drop of rain on the site that afternoon!
If you are a Trinity parent, please pray with your children for the work at the site and for God's protection and provision. Please also know that when we pray for good weather, we don't always mean dry weather. Last Sunday's rain helped keep the site from getting dusty, and allowed us to get access to some heavy equipment we needed on on short notice (the rain had shut down work at many other sites that day, but hardly effected us).
