Building on the Word of God

Here's a neat story:  earlier in the building process from when we were pouring the foundation of the building.  Our chaplain, William Allen, took a bible and laid it in the area where the cement was to be poured in the front/right corner of the building. Soon after, the area was filled with cement.  William shared that he felt led to do this as a symbol that we were building Trinity on the foundation of God's word.

I'm glad that he was on campus during the small window of opportunity to do this.  Our commitment to God's word should stand as long (longer, even) as this new building does. Before finishing this story though, I'd like to point out that in the parable of the wise builder, the rock-solid foundation the wise builder worked on was not the word of God, but the daily practice of the word of God. The real security we have in the foundation of Trinity is not the Bible installed in the corner of our new building, but our commitment to daily put into practice the words that bible contains.
